A quick trip to Scotland

I spent a couple of days in Dumfries and Galloway last week. The first day was bright, sunny and warm. I spent a few hours at the Kite centre at Laurieston. They feed the kites daily, so there is plenty of opportunity to get some flight shots as they gather and drop down to grab the food, then eat it on the wing. It most probably was a bit too bright for photography, and a couple of times my camera turned itself off as it was overheating.

The second day started off overcast and considerably colder and windier, as I drove around Galloway forest for some landscape pictures. The day gradually brightened up, and I particularly like the shot of the moss covered tree as it was highlighted by a solitary beam of light.
