Back to Bempton

I enjoyed my last visit to Bempton cliffs on the Yorkshire coast so much I couldn't resist another trip. The highlight was the first evening when the mist rolled in. I was able to take some nice shots of birds in flight into the setting sun coming out of the mist. What I hadn't noticed was that while my camera was pointing upwards a puffin had landed on a ledge just below my feet, and with a beak full of sand eels. It didn't seem particularly concerned about my presence and actually seemed as interested in me as I was in it.


If you look away from the sea, there are also songbirds in the fields behind the cliffs, the pictures include a singing meadow pipit and a hungry whitethroat'
